Nur wenige Meter vom Richard-Wagner-Platz entfernt wurde 1905 das Rathaus Charlottenburg eröffnet. Bereits 1906 wurde der U-Bahnhof Wilhelmplatz in Betrieb genommen. Er wurde 1974 abgerissen und 1978 durch den heutigen U-Bahnhof Richard-Wagner-Platz ersetzt. Montags und donnerstags findet hier ein Wochenmarkt statt.
